Tuesday, December 1, Giving Tuesday, is special to us. On that day, charitable organizations speak up and ask for support. Literacy DuPage is no exception.
We run entirely on donations (and volunteer energy, of course). Any opportunity to rally support for our learners and tutors, we take it. And so, without hesitation and with excitement, we offer six simple ways you can give your support to Literacy DuPage this giving season and make an impact.
1. Shop with us through AmazonSmile
Before we get to Giving Tuesday, the internet serves up Cyber Monday. If you’re online shopping at Amazon on Monday, November 30, or any day, for that matter, please select Literacy DuPage as your supported charity through AmazonSmile. At no additional cost to you, we will receive 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases.
- Temporarily select a different charitable organization.
- Re-select Literacy DuPage.
- This should update the information, so you see our updated name.
2. Donate through our website now or support us all year long
Make a donation on our website on Tuesday, December 1, for Giving Tuesday! We also have a recurring donation option on our website, which allows for yearlong donations. Fill out the form, and the amount you choose will be billed each month through PayPal.
4. Mail a donation
If you prefer to donate by check, you can send your contribution by mail. Over the next few weeks, our mailing list members should be receiving physical letters—and donation envelopes—to make mailing easy. So if you’re on our list, check your mailbox! If you’re not, write a check, place it in an envelope, and mail it to:
Literacy DuPage
c/o College of DuPage, Continuing Education, SRC 111
425 Fawell Blvd.
Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137
5. Donate your time and heart
Maybe you are looking for other ways to support Literacy DuPage outside of a monetary donation. Help change a life through literacy and join our big-hearted army of tutors! You are just steps away from giving the gift of language. The first step is to register for a Meet & Greet. There you will learn about Literacy DuPage and how you can become involved.
6. Help us spread the word
We saved the best (and possibly most important) for last. Please help us expand our mission by sharing this post with your friends, family members, and social media followers. Urge them to support a cause that means so much to you — and to the thousands of DuPage County adults who need to improve their English skills.
Whether you take one or several of these actions, please know that we appreciate every dollar, every moment, and every conversation. In big and small ways, you are sparking conversation and changing lives.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays!
