Giving Tuesday is coming. Yes, it’s an invented holiday … but with so much heart! Charitable organizations will be speaking up, asking for support, hoping you will give a little or a lot to fund their worthy causes.
Literacy DuPage is no exception. We run entirely on donations (and volunteer energy, of course). So, any chance we get to rally support, we will absolutely ask for help.
And so, without shame or hesitation, we offer you these five simple ways you can give your support to Literacy DuPage.
1. Shop with us through AmazonSmile
Before we get to Giving Tuesday, the internet serves up Cyber Monday. If you’re online shopping at Amazon on Monday, November 26 … or any day, for that matter, please select Literacy DuPage as your supported charity through AmazonSmile. At no additional cost to you, we will receive 0.5% of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. (We are registered with Amazon under the name Literacy Volunteers of America – DuPage.)
2. Donate through #ILGive
For Giving Tuesday, we’re participating in #ILGIVE, a state-wide push to unite people around amazing causes. Starting at midnight and all through Tuesday, November 27, you can visit ILGive.com and make a donation to Literacy DuPage and many other great, nonprofit organizations in Illinois.
3. Support us all year long
The donation page on our website is set up to receive recurring donations. Simply fill out the form, and the amount you choose will be billed to you each month through PayPal.
4. Mail a donation
If you to prefer to donate by check, you can absolutely send your contribution by mail. The week of Thanksgiving, members of our mailing list should be receiving physical letters—and donation envelopes—to make mailing easy. So if you’re on our list, check your mail pile! If you’re not, write a check, stuff it in an envelope, and mail it to:
24W500 Maple Ave, Ste 214
Naperville IL 60540-6057
5. Share this post
Once you’ve made your donation, please share this post with your friends, family members, and social media followers. Urge them to support a cause that means so much to you—and to the thousands of DuPage County adults who need to improve their English skills.
Whether you take one or several of these actions, please know that we are grateful for everything you do to support Literacy DuPage, our tutors, and the learners we serve.
Thank you, and Happy Giving Tuesday!
